Kristian Frédric is a stage director and librettist.
His work lies at the intersection of theatre and music, which he conceives first and foremost as spaces of humanity, where the intimate and the universal meet.
Trained in theatre and deeply influenced by literature and poetry, he develops a profoundly contemporary scenic language, attentive to memory, dream, and human fragility, while remaining firmly rooted in a deep respect for the original musical works and librettos.
He conceives dramaturgy as a whole, in which text, music, and staging engage in an organic dialogue. His actor and singer direction—subtle and sensitive—combined with a strongly cinematic visual approach, gives rise to powerful scenic worlds in the service of deeply embodied characters.
Through his operatic creations, Kristian Frédric explores what endures despite loss and fracture: the capacity to love, to believe, and to dream.
